Glasgow's Aidan McHugh will take his place alongside Andy Murray, Jamie Murray, Cameron Norrie and Jonny O'Mara as the fifth member of a strong Team Scotland for next month's Schroders Battle of the Brits - Scotland versus England. Team Scotland will be captained by Scotland football legend Ally McCoist and Aberdeen's British Open golf champion Paul Lawrie.

"Andy and Jamie are legends of Scottish sport so to be in a team alongside them is a massive honour. I've also been really inspired by Cam's incredible season too," said McHugh. "With Jonny as well we've got a very strong line-up especially with two winners like Ally and Paul captaining us. I'm just excited to be part of it all."

Jubb, from Hull, will join a Team England squad spearheaded by British No.1 Dan Evans, with Jack Draper, Neal Skupski and multiple Grand Slam doubles champion Joe Salisbury. The team captains for England will be broadcaster Clare Balding and former Celtic and English Premier League footballer Chris Sutton.

"Battle of the Brits events are so much fun and I think the level of competition will be even higher this time, with a big crowd watching and cheering," said Jubb. "It's going to be a very special experience just to be there in Aberdeen. We know how tough it's going to be against Scotland but the guys are going to be playing their hearts out so anything could happen!"

Tournament Director and Team Scotland doubles lynchpin Jamie Murray said: "Aidan and Paul are both really promising young players and it's going to be great to have them there. I think all of us players feel like we're going to be part of something really special in Aberdeen which will be a real showcase for all the tennis talent we have here in Scotland and in England too. I really hope the crowd is ready to make a lot of noise and really raise the roof of the P&J Live!"

Schroders Battle of the Brits – Scotland versus England will be held at the P&J Live in Aberdeen on 21 and 22 December. Tickets are selling fast but a handful are still available here.

Schroders Battle of the Brits - Scotland versus England will be shown on BBC iPlayer in the UK and Tennis Channel across the US and Europe.
