Erin Flett, our Corporate Sales Executive gives her intake on working at P&J Live...
James Bond, Mardi Gras, The Greatest Showman and Wanderlust – an odd combination you might think, but these are just some of the themes we have developed for banquets at AECC in the past and will continue to develop in our new home, P&J Live.
I’ve been part of the sales team since April 2018 and work on everything from small meetings to large conferences and banquets – no two days are the same and I love it. I always used to get told off at school for talking to everyone and now I get paid to do it, winner! I do try to stay on track but I make no promises not to sometimes stray onto totally unrelated topics, I do love a good chat about holidays…
We can discuss your initial thoughts over a coffee and decide on the best room for you as well as your ideal menu and how you see the evening going. I’d be delighted to show you around our venue so you can get a feel for the space yourself – there’s nothing quite like being physically in the room to be able to picture your event! I think my favourite part of the banqueting process (apart from the food of course) is taking clients to a room and talking through the lighting effect options, we really go from the intial ‘wow’ to ‘WOW’ as the potential unfolds and excitement builds. You know the lighting effect popular on TV game shows, where the room goes from brilliant white studio lighting to suddenly deep blue (there’s one show in particular I have in mind here, but you don’t have to be a millionaire to achieve this!)? We can craft a very similar effect, perfect for any dramatic moments.
A little further down the line, your dedicated event executive joins the party. This is when things get exciting and you really get down to the nitty gritty – will you use one of aforementioned themes or will you go rogue with something totally different? Your event executive has tonnes of experience in managing banqueting events and can help with everything from advising colour schemes (will you stick with company colours or will you have flashy rainbow lights that change throughout the night?) to sourcing table centres and chair covers.
From gourmet chicken goujons to the finest of steaks and a basic room wash to eccentric pyrotechnics – we can do it all. And the best bit? Your event executive is your primary contact plus our teams are all in-house, taking the stress of coordinating different suppliers off your shoulders.
If you’d like to learn more or have a banquet you’d like to bring to P&J Live, get in touch with the team at [email protected] or give us a call on 01224 824824.
