Unleashing Compassion: P&J Live’s Month of Giving Triumphs For The Local Community
P&J Live played a pivotal role in the ASM Global Month of Giving initiative, spanning from November 15th to December 15th. Our team untied with colleagues worldwide, pooling our efforts to make a meaningful impact on the well-being of our local communities.
We raised a remarkable £4,391.22 for Maggie's Centre and collected 180 food items (81KG) to donate to the Instant Neighbour Food Bank. Additionally, we volunteered at AberNecessities and Cash for Kids North East Scotland to support children in our area during the festive season. Our team truly accomplished some incredible work, and here's a summary of it all!
Spreading Joy: Volunteering for a Magical Cause!
Ross Allerton and Christian Davidson took a break from their busy schedule to volunteer at Cash for Kids North East Scotland to help aid their Mission Christmas project. They didn’t just lend a hand: they sorted, collated, bagged, and allocated over 350 gifts, helping the charity give out 312,063 gifts from Santa. That’s what we call an extraordinary achievement!
Another group of our fabulous team assisted AberNeccessities with their Believe in Magic Christmas Campaign. Unfortunately, 21.8% of children living in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire are living in poverty which means the magical feeling and hopeful anticipation of Christmas morning just does not exist. This amazing charity wanted to make a change and add a little magic where they can by creating bespoke Christmas Eve Boxes for every child they support, as well as provide gifts that caregivers can wrap and give to the children on Christmas morning. We got to help the charity organise, build, pack and deliver these incredible boxes.
Spectacular Fundraising & Baking Dreams
The incredible total of £4,391.22 raised for the Maggie’s was achieved by various initiatives set by our charity team as well as charity volunteers colleting funds on the night of Madness.
What’s a festive season without a sprinkle of friendly competition? P&J Live hosted its first-ever Christmas Bake Off, where our staff competed for bragging rights and with an aim of no soggy bottoms! The winner – Ross Allerton’s Christmas Crinkle Cookies, which stole the show!
During the month we also hosted a Christmas Jumper Day and a staff raffle, complete with incredible prizes generously donated by local businesses, friends and more. The cherry on top? Sleigh Ball – where guests had the chance to win tickets to see Michael McIntyre whilst playing a game of skis and goggles (our après ski twist of heads and tails) with all proceeds being donated to the charity.
With the assistance of the VisitAberdeenshire team, we contributed 180 food items to Instant Neighbour. These donations encompassed essentials like canned soup, UHT or long-life milk, rice, pasta, cereals, and basic toiletries. Instant Neighbour is a charity dedicated to supplying emergency food parcels to individuals facing particularly challenging circumstances.
We are immensely proud of what we accomplished together and look forward to continuing our commitment to making a positive difference in 2024 and onwards.
