The Role: To assist in the promotion and development of the catering operation within the venue and to ensure the levels of service and quality of food and beverage meet the high standard expected by our clients.

Reporting to: Head of F&B

KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Main Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Head of F&B in ensuring departmental financial targets are achieved.
  • Planning, preparation and delivery of all catering requirements within the Arena, Exhibition, Hospitality and C&B markets in a timely manner and that they meet the required standards of service expected by the Head of F&B.
  • To undertake an active role in the operational side of F&B at all events. This will include staff briefings, event setups and breakdowns, and assisting in bars and kiosks as and when required.
  • Staffing – Ensuring sufficient numbers of staff are booked for particular events and that all staff costs are controlled. Responsible for their training, discipline and conduct. Preparing and implementing training programmes to ensure staff development.
  • Stock Control – The F&B Manager will be responsible for liaising with the Head of F&B for ordering sufficient stock for events, the delivery, storage and movement of any stock and monthly stock takes. Managing stock levels effectively and ensuring minimum waste.
  • Administration – The F&B Manager will be responsible for ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed. This will include the scripting of events through EBMS, the collating of all necessary details for billing, F&B team rotas, event briefing packs and all necessary legal and non-legal signage required for events.
  • EPOS programming – The F&B Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the EPOS system is up to date at all times, ensuring that all pricing is correct and implementing any necessary changes as and when required. To use the EPOS system for reporting all event statistics to the Head of F&B.
  • Cash Handling – The post will be responsible for the handling of cash. Ensuring all till procedures, cash reconciliation and banking procedures are followed correctly.
  • Compliance – The F&B Manager will liaise with the Head of F&B to ensure all relevant Health and Safety at Work Legislation is adhered to and all licensing, food hygiene regulations and allergy procedures are followed. To compete all Risk Assessments and Hazard Analysis and ensure all recording and monitoring paperwork is completed and up to date.
  • Equipment – the F&B Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe use and cleaning of all equipment within the catering areas, reporting any defects, breakdowns or damage and contacting contractors for repairs.
  • To ensure that a high level of housekeeping is maintained at all times with all catering areas being kept clean and tidy.
  • To maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and actively make improvements when required.
  • To manage and maintain effective and professional business relationship with internal and external clients.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the hospitality sector with high levels of operating and service standards.
  • Hospitality Management qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Hands on approach and capable of being a part of the service delivery
  • Previous experience at a supervisory level within the hospitality sector is essential.

Skills

  • Have a good financial and commercial awareness.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to demonstrate they can fulfil and management role
  • Have a thorough understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and licensing regulations
  • Be prepared to work flexibly. The role will include evening and weekend working hours.
  • The position involves an element of manual handling.
  • Have excellent organisational and planning skills.

Experience

  • Previous experience at a supervisory level within the hospitality sector is essential.

Can I drop off and pick up someone without paying parking fees?

If you are dropping off or picking someone up from an event, please note the maximum wait time in our car parks is 30 minutes. Parking charges will apply if your car is within the car park for more than 30 minutes. This also applies if you cannot find a space, you will not be charged if you exit the car park within 30 minutes.

How can I purchase tickets for a concert at P&J Live?

Tickets are available from our ticketing agent Ticketmaster on www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 08444 77 9000.

P&J Live do not sell tickets directly.

What time is the Box Office open?

Our box office at P&J Live will be open on concert days only. This will be open from 17:30 on the date of the show only and closes once the main act comes on stage.

Will I be able to purchase food at P&J Live?

There is a wide range of food and beverage options available to purchase for concerts and events, including catering outlets offering a variety of hot food options.

Please note - it is against venue policy to allow patrons to bring in their own food and drink to the venue. At P&J live it is our aim to be completely cashless, all of our bars, kiosks and restaurants accept card payments, this is more efficient, safe and ensures a speedy transaction. There are therefore no cash machines on the TECA site.

How do I get to P&J Live from outside Aberdeen?

Getting into Aberdeen has never been easier with the completion of the new Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

P&J Live is located close to Aberdeen airport, six miles northwest of the city centre you can reach the venue using a range of transport options.
